Al-Malwiyya (Swirls) Iraqi Sweet Orange Swirls Carrot Cake

I called this dish the Al- Malwiya Iraqi sweet, It is a name of the Great Mosque of Samarra, in Samarra, Iraq. This great Mosque was built in 848 and was completed in 851 and it is the largest mosque in the world. It was called Malwiya tower because it has a spiraling cone, that led up to spiral minaret where the Athan or call to the prayers was conducted.

The first time I made this dish, is to the most beautiful group of ladies that I have ever met, we gather every Fridays to discuss, religious, family and community issues. Through the years, they have become my second family and my best companions. I feel that I am blessed to have such beautiful, kind, sweet and wonderful sisters. We gather every Friday to enjoy the most graceful friendship and each other’s company. Also, we enjoy the varieties of the most stunning and delicious dishes from sweets, foods and drinks, from different parts of the world. What is the most appealing thing about these ladies is that they come from all over the world and with different culture and traditions, but we all united, there is no difference between us, we have common ground that we are all human. We want to be happy, prosper and live a happy joyful life.
